Market Problem:
According to the American Society for Training and Development, U.S. companies spent $156 billion dollars on employee training in 2011 (Silverman, 2012). However, companies often don't know the return on their training investments (Stern, 2011).
Eduardo Salas, a professor at the University of Central Florida, believes that companies make the following mistakes in training employees (Silverman, 2012):
1. They don’t take the time to analyze their training needs.
2. They don’t evaluate how much and how well their employees have learned.
3. They don’t set clear learning objectives, feedback, regular practice, and a measurement of assessment.
4. They don’t give enough supervisory support and opportunists to practice after employees have completed their training.
Salas suggested that a company focuses on the design, as well as a follow-up of employees' performance after the completion of a training program (Silverman, 2012).

Problem = Business Opportunity
92 of the 96 Fortune 500 CEO's expressed interest in knowing how their company's learning & development programs affect their business, but only 8% of the them actually see this happening at their companies (Stern, 2011)
